Cold blooded killing still simmers


IMPHAL, Nov 23 : In case any one belonging to Chingmeirong is found involved in thrashing to death Ngangom Kuber by KCP-MC (Sangai group), the individual along with his whole family would be banished from the locality. This was resolved in a public meeting of Chingmei-rong Maning and Mamang Leikai this morning.

IMPHAL, Nov 23 : At least five Assam Rifles perso-nnel, including a Major and a Captain were killed in an ambush laid by cadres of the proscribed UNLF today at Samtal area in Chandel district.
The UNLF, which has claimed responsibility for the lethal strike, however claimed that nine AR personnel were killed in the clinical execution of the attack, which was carried out twice.

School torched


The charred remains of the school and students forming a human chain to denounce the act of arson.
DESAM calls it terrorism. In the latest of the series of arson attacks on educational institutions, a school located at Khongjom in Thoubal district has become the first private school to be victimised by the nightly vandals causing damages to the school building apart from destroying properties worth lakhs of rupees.

The unfortunate school is the Standard English School, Khongjom.
